Between Denver and Boulder
Concrete contractor in Westminster, CO
Westminster is one of the towns we work most. Driveways, patios and walks on the older blocks in the south of the city and on the newer streets up north.
A city named for a college
Westminster takes its name from Westminster University, whose red sandstone building still stands on the hill above 83rd Avenue. The city incorporated in 1911 and spreads across both Adams and Jefferson counties.
Standley Lake sits on its west side, the B Line stops at Westminster Station, and US 36 runs through on the way to Boulder.

Old Westminster and the newer north
Harris Park and the blocks around it are the oldest part of the city, and much of south Westminster filled in after World War II with modest ranches and split-levels. Driveways, walks and steps from those decades are the usual jobs.
The north side is younger. Legacy Ridge, The Ranch and the streets around them came later, and owners there tend to ask for patios and walkways.

Downtown Westminster is new ground
The old Westminster Mall site at 88th and Sheridan is being rebuilt as Downtown Westminster, with new homes and shops. In Bradburn and the other planned neighborhoods, associations usually want to approve a patio or driveway change first. Get that approval in hand and show it at the walkthrough.
Clay, frost and the first winter
Westminster sits in the Front Range clay belt. Water makes the soil swell, which is why driveways and patios heave and crack. A prepared base and reinforcement hold the slab together, and control joints placed to spec decide where it cracks.
Our process stays simple: measured walkthrough, written scope and price, base prep, the pour, then a clean site. After the pour, hold off on deicing salt through the first winter and use sand for traction.

Good to know
Concrete in Westminster: questions
Should I patch or replace a cracked driveway on an older Westminster house?
Hairline cracks can wait. Settled slabs, wide gaps and heaved corners usually mean the base has failed, and replacement usually outlasts a patch. We walk the driveway, measure it and put the scope and price in writing.
When can I use deicer on a new concrete driveway?
Concrete contractors generally advise skipping deicing salt through the first winter, because new concrete is still drying out and the surface can scale. Sand gives you traction without the risk.
Do you pour stamped concrete in Westminster?
Yes: stamped and decorative patios, walkways, steps and driveway patterns. Westminster is one of the towns we work most, and we walk and measure the site before quoting.
