Patios, slabs and pads

Concrete patios in the Denver metro

Back patios, patio extensions, fire pit pads and utility slabs, laid out around the way you use the yard.

Start with how you use the yard

A good patio is sized for the table you own, the grill you want and the path people actually walk. Before quoting, we look at the back door, the steps, the fence line and where water goes when it rains, then lay out a slab that suits the yard you have.

Plenty of newer homes around the Denver metro come with a small builder pad outside the back door. Extending it is a straightforward way to get a patio you can really use, and the new section is tied in, jointed and finished so the two read as one.

We also pour slabs that do a job: pads for sheds, AC units and equipment, a garage or workshop floor, and a level spot for a fire pit with room for chairs around it.

The details

Patio details that matter later

  1. Fall away from the house

A patio should shed water away from the foundation. A gentle slope keeps rain and snowmelt from sitting against the house.

  2. Steps sized for real feet

When the patio sits below the door, the steps and landing get even risers and enough depth to stand on comfortably.

  3. A finish that suits the house

Broom finish is practical and grippy. Stamped and colored finishes are there when you want the patio to look like stone.

Good to know

Concrete patios: common questions

Can you add on to my existing patio?

Yes. We extend builder pads and older patios. The new section is tied in where it needs to be and jointed so old and new move together.

Which finish should I choose?

Broom finish is the most practical and the easiest to keep clean. Stamped concrete costs more and gives you the look of slate or stone. We can go over both at the walkthrough.

How soon can we use the new patio?

You can usually walk on it after a day or two. Give it about a week before heavy furniture or a grill goes on it.
