Tear-out and replacement
Concrete replacement in the Denver metro
Cracked, heaved, sinking or flaking concrete broken out, hauled away and poured back on a base that gets fixed first.
Why the old concrete failed
Before quoting a replacement, we look at why the old slab gave up. Settling usually points to a soft or washed out base. Heaving often comes from clay soil swelling with water, or frost under a slab that holds moisture. Flaking and pitting on the surface is a common sign of deicing salt and freeze and thaw working on concrete that was not finished or cured well.
Pouring new concrete over the same problem just resets the clock. A replacement starts with demolition and haul-off, then the base gets dug out, repaired and compacted, and drainage gets corrected if water has been running under the slab.
We replace driveways, patios, walks, steps, garage aprons and slabs, one section or the whole thing. When only part of a slab has failed, you get a straight answer on whether a partial replacement makes sense.

The details
Signs it is time to replace
Trip edges and heaving
Panels that have lifted or dropped create trip edges and usually mean the base underneath has moved.
Water running toward the house
If a patio or walk now slopes toward the foundation, it is sending water exactly where you do not want it.
Cracks that keep growing
Hairline cracks are common. Cracks that keep widening, or panels that rock underfoot, mean the slab has lost its support.

Good to know
Concrete replacement: common questions
Can cracked concrete be repaired without replacing it?
Small, stable cracks can sometimes be sealed. When the slab has settled, heaved or broken into loose pieces, replacement is usually the lasting fix.
Do you haul away the old concrete?
Yes. Demolition and haul-off are part of every replacement job.
Can you replace only part of my driveway?
Often, yes. We can cut out and replace the failed sections. New concrete may look a little different from the old at first, which is worth knowing before you choose.
